"Let them all play again, in some other way, and let them be happy."

I've always been a fan of Philip K Dick though I'd never read a lot of his works. Just bits and pieces here and there. But I knew I liked him. His books all have really nice titles.

For Christmas, my biggest gift from my parents was a new smartphone. A Samsung Infuse. It's been a big change. My last cell phone was almost 10 years old. I got it right after high school. I've always kind of scoffed at people and their crazy new expensive phones. But now I have one. And this book is the first book I read on it. I guess that's something.

Richard Linklater did a film version of this book. I haven't seen it, but when I was googling book cover images I ran across it. I remember when it came out vaguely. And that it's that animation kind of thing like Waking Life. I think he mentions Philip K in Waking Life. Or maybe Slacker. I dont know for sure, but I like Richard Linklater mostly. Sometimes it's a fine line that he almost oversteps, but mostly I like him. Especially Slacker.

Reading list 2012:

1. A Scanner Darkly by Philip K Dick

Hoping I can start my reading list up again. The last reading list I kept ended here. I've read a few books since then (Norman Mailer, Simone de Beauvoir, and others), but not as voraciously these past few years as I have the other years of my life.
