the boys went sightseeing while mom and i took the babe on an adventure in locating the relocated john deere store for a lawnmower part. the second adventure was convincing him to hop off the biggest tractor there and head back to the house which took a few tears and a nap on the drive back. we picked up tamales at the donut shop for dinner (if you have a second read up on the mississippi tamale trail) which weren't as good as we wanted them to be (too dry to suck the juice from husks - my favorite part), but good enough to introduce m to the idea. we all spent the rest of the evening round the little house where the three of us shacked up for the trip. c and i cut open a watermelon pa brought from his garden and i introduced him to his first watermelon seed spitting contest. if you look closely in that next to last photo you can see we came out to a dead even tie. we closed the night with a round of bottle rockets shot from the porch - a luxury of having no neighbors nearby.
