that table full of tomatoes... the image of every summer of my days growing up. these are all mostly from the day we took the boy around downtown natchez. he hadn't been with us to see my parents since, well, i can't remember how long. at least 6 inches of a growth spurt ago. it was really too hot to force ourselves in and out of the car over and over again, so we made the requisite stops and headed under the bridge on the louisiana side of the river which was one of his favorite area memories from his last trip. once we got back to the house mom got out the pool for us to set up and i chased away a water loving golden retriever we like to call oliver. my nephew was feeling water shy and hadn't warmed up to the new faces i brought along yet so he showed me his toys and we went for a walk to see the tractor and pappy's motorcycle tucked away in the shed. i kind of feel like these photos are out of sorts a bit, even though the dates match, but that's the way vacation memories go anyway so i'll leave them be.
